Walbrzych, Poland. Portrait of a city in Silesia.

This mining region became Polish again following the Yalta accords, and it has witnessed a number of major human and economic shifts.

The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 saw its destiny change course once more. Poland is yet again seeing its independence and economy moving in a radically different direction.

From the city of Walbrzych an attempt is underway to profoundly restructure its economy, changing the face of the city and the region.
